
Topic: “ Texas Backup Power Packages (TPBB) ; Multi-Technology Microgrids "
During the 88th Texas Legislature, Senate Bill 2627 established the Texas Energy Fund (TxEF) . This legislation appropriated $5B for TxER in FY 2024-2025 and $4B for TxEF in FY 2026-2027. The TxEF is adminstered by the Public Utility Commision of Texas. It incudes $1.8B for Texas Backup Power Packages (TBPP).
At the March 13 DEC meeting, Fazil Shaikh, Senior Director, Strategy & Growth, GENERAC, will be presenting various aspect of that program.
Fazil Shaikh is the Senior Director of Strategy & Growth at Generac Industrial Energy, where he leads strategic programs, market development initiatives, regulatory and legislative efforts, and key partnerships across the industrial energy sector. His work focuses on advancing microgrids, distributed energy resources (DER), resiliency solutions, and data-center offerings.
With over 15 years of experience spanning the energy transition ecosystem, Fazil has held leadership roles in distributed generation, BESS development, demand response, QSE operations, and energy market strategy. His career includes impactful tenures at Dominion Energy, NRG Energy, and Palm Energy, development and operations of commodity and distributed generation portfolios across the United States.
Fazil holds a BS in Economics from Texas A&M University and completed postgraduate studies in Artificial Intelligence for Leaders at the Texas McCombs School of Business.
Fazil is a Native Texan and resides in Frisco, TX with his wife and three children.
